Dar es Salaam April 18, 2017: Speaking in Dar es Salaam earlier today, Vodacom's Managing Director Mr. Ian Ferrao said, "Vodacom Tanzania PLC expects a continued influx of applications during the course of this week. However, following consultation with the Government of Tanzania and the respective investment communities including Members of Parliament and groups of civil servants and officials of the constituent member organizations of the Tanzania Federation of Cooperatives (TFC), we have requested and received approval from the Capital Markets and Securities Authority (CMSA) to extend the offer period by three weeks to Thursday 11 May 2017. This extension will go a long way towards ensuring full participation by retail and institutional investors, who have requested for more time. We thank all potential Tanzanian investors that have participated in the initial offer period and look forward to welcoming all new shareholders on-board shortly. Allotment of shares is now proposed to take place from the 19 May 2017 onwards, with expected final listing on the DSE by early June 2017."
